  • W. Scott Wilson

    Scott inspires the Sylvan team with an honest, hard-working, solution-oriented approach. He loves going the extra mile to solve application challenges for clients. After working in finance, wood products and industrial construction supply, Scott launched Sylvan in 1990. So what still gets him excited about coming to work every day? Rolling out new products to enhance options for customers. When not working, he’s often outdoors hiking, rafting or skiing with family and friends.

  • Ken Turnbull

    Ken really knows his products and applications. With Sylvan since 1996, he has decades of experience in plywood and overlay panel sales, and he previously worked in plywood and lumber mill production. Clients depend on him for this deep product knowledge as well as for his integrity and straight-forward approach. Married more than 48 years with grown children and grandkids, Ken is as solid as the rock walls and landscaping features he likes to build on weekends.

  • Pam Velasquez

    Pam excels with both numbers and people. With Sylvan since 1998, she’s in charge of all financial reporting and materials management. She manages the office and accounting staff—improving processes so we can better serve our clients. And she also likes connecting directly with customers to discuss projects and Sylvan’s product lines. A native Oregonian, Pam volunteers in the community and loves to ski, hike, boat or garden with her family.

    Casey is very easy going. But don’t let that fool you. She’s great at making sure our clients get the answers they need as speedily as possible. It helps that this organized multitasker, who has been part of the Sylvan family since 2000, loves being challenged and learning new things. A native Oregonian, she enjoys spending time camping and boating with her family, friends and dogs.

    When it comes to overlay plywood products—particularly for the sign and concrete form industries—Suzanne really knows her stuff. Prior to Sylvan, she worked 27 years as a representative for a major timber company. These days, she thrives on helping clients understand the value-added features of our products. Off hours, Suzanne and her husband of 44 years can be found golfing or working on their goal of catching a game at every Major League Baseball park.

    Cindy’s motto is “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” That explains why she’s been so successful working with Sylvan’s government clients for more than 18 years. She also brings a deep understanding of the industry and client needs to the table. Cindy loves working for Sylvan because “it’s an honest company that has their customers’ best interests in mind.” To relax, Cindy loves to golf, garden, hike and spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

    After starting as an administrative assistant 15 years ago, Bailey (aka “Boo”) wanted more of a challenge, so she moved into sales and discovered her true passion. She cares about really getting to know her clients, and they appreciate that she is organized, prompt and responsive. Bailey loves learning new things every day, so it’s no surprise that she enjoys a wide range of outside interests including Pilates, running, wine tasting, organizing and traveling.

    With more than 10 years of experience working with architects, engineers and contractors, Bryan understands construction challenges. He brings tenacity, curiosity and enthusiasm to the job, and clients know they can depend on him to provide product solutions that keep pace with current industry practices. During his down time, Bryan likes to travel, mountain bike, sail and hike.

    Working in forest products for over 10 years Andrew has experience in domestic, import, softwood and hardwood plywood. Andrew aims to bring value and become a trusted resource for his customers; often helping in any way possible to fulfill the needs of each project. In his free time he enjoys exploring the Oregon outdoors with his wife, working out, family time, and watching sports. Go Ducks!

    As Sylvan’s newest team member, Alexandra combines accounting experience with interest in learning the construction industry. Alexandra is a suave, witty, and exceptionally humble young professional.

    In addition to staple Oregonian outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, Alexandra enjoys a diverse portfolio of interests such as rock climbing and watching soccer.

    Dan has supported Commercial Construction industry producers, specifiers, contractors and distributors for over 20 years. Road ready with myriad samples, brochures, logo-swag and hard hats, you’re also likely to find fishing, basketball or golf gear in trunk of Dan’s car. Dan is a proud husband and dad, holds a BA in Business, MBA in Business Management and is an Army Airborne Infantry veteran.

    Desta is always on the lookout for her next new challenge and brings a fresh perspective in Sylvan’s marketing role.
