SidesSylvan’s ECONO-FORM™ BROWN Concrete Form Plywood is produced with concrete resistant Phenolic Surface Film Overlays (PSF 2-Sides) over economical, yet flat-laying hardwood veneers for cost-saving applications. The substrate is precision engineered with 1.4mm calibrated hardwood veneers bonded with a phenolic resin adhesive for enhanced dimensional stability. This panel is both water and heat resistant. The plywood can be drilled or cut with carbide steel tips for minimal chipping. The PSF resinous overlay helps to minimize penetration of alkalis and moisture from the concrete slurry, and thereby enabling cost-effective usage.

Feature:

Recommended for concrete form applications as an economical alternative to BBO & ES concrete form plywood, or durable use as bracing and backer-sheet structural support, or for other forming applications where the highest architectural finishes are not required.
Durable 180/180 overlay film on 2-sides (45 LBS / MSF)
Service life up to 14-20 combined reuses (7-10 uses per side) in engineered form (with proper maintenance and cleaning between every pour).
Coreline: 3/4″ 11-ply Construction with A-B-Grade face veneers under the overlays.

Sylvan’s ECONO-FORM™ BROWN Concrete Form Plywood is edge-sealed during production which will protect core veneers from alkalis in concrete and enhance dimensional stability of the plywood. It is recommended to re-seal any cut or unprotected edges with an exterior polyurethane paint or equivalent exterior coating.

Prior to each pour, it is important to apply a chemically reactive form release agent which meets or exceeds the properties of Cresset Chemical’s Crete-Lease 880-VOC XTRA®, or Spec Chem’s SpecStrip®.

Sylvan’s ECONO-FORM™ BROWN 180/180 2-sided Concrete Form Plywood can be cleaned much easier and quicker after each pour than traditional BBO&ES, MDO, or plain plywood. Clean after each pour using only Teflon or synthetic (non-metallic) spatulas or brushes to minimize damage to the surface.

While ECONO-FORM™ BROWN 180/180 Plywood is resistant to some abrasion and impact, use of appropriate rubber-tipped vibrators and vibration techniques are recommended to protect the panel surface and to improve longevity.

Store ECONO-FORM™ BROWN Plywood inside a dry warehouse, protected from weather conditions and UV sunlight.
